Charme Sommelier is an event dedicated to the charm of the world of wine, that awards those sommeliers that are able to show distinction not only in competence and professionalism but also style, charisma and elegance… in one word, charme.
“During a lunch or dinner, the moment in which the wine is selected is one of the most important for the guests: the charme of the sommelier can make this event unique. The Charme Sommelier Competition is born from the personal experiences of wine producers and gourmets who, having visited hundreds of restaurants around the world, noted that the style and courtesy of the sommelier are important in the overall quality of the locale”
These are the words with which Gianluca Bisol, Managing Director of the historic winery in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene, explains the conception of Charme Sommelier, the original competition which, after having awarded Marco Visentin and Serena Capuzzo in it’s first local edition, from this year will become a national event, recognised by the Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS) and supported by the eight families of the Grandi Vini Group: Bisol, Carpineto, Umberto Cesari, Chiarlo, Garofoli, Mantellassi, Pighin and Tommasi, in fact, partners in Charme Sommelier, an event that demonstrates the best of the attention to quality, prestige and style that the eight members have brought to the world of wine for over twenty years.
